The late Paddy Burns was a man who embraced the aims of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Ereann. The formation of a Branch in the Glens of Antrim was something that Paddy was very Proud of, an enthusiastic Glens man himself.
He was active in the Branch for many years, and was treasure for more than twenty of those years. During his time as treasurer, Paddy managed the finances of a number of County Antrim Fleadhs. He carried out these difficult tasks with confidence and efficiency.
Members of the Glens of Antrim Branch played at Paddy's funeral Mass in Cushendall, a fitting tribute to a man who gave some of his time to the promotion of Traditional music in the Glens. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by Glens of Antrim Comhaltas.
Our sympathies go to May his wife, his daughter Cathy, to his sons David and Andrew and to the wider family circle.
